Chief Kamachi in this song, to us, was not just a rapper, but a story teller also. The video for City Blocks is part music video, part short film! This immediately creates a great presence and set a great scene for the track and adds to the message that Chief Kamachi is delivering in his rhymes. With opening line: "It's another ghetto story, but just give me a minute" - Chief Kamachi let's us know that its time to sit back and let him take us on a journey through his perception of the 'City Blocks'.
'City Blocks' is delivered to us by Chief Kamachi through stories about a 'street lieutenant' and other characters and their life experiences on the 'city blocks'. Throughout the rapper touches on references in his verses and images of many issues facing societies on blocks worldwide today, as well as on the blocks he describes. Issues like poverty, mental health, homelessness, drugs, sexuality, social differences and more.
Overall a great watch and definitely a track to jam to with relevant substance.
