Well this week at Cats Recording Studios - The Blog we review and bring to you a video that smashes all of these terms into outer space! Blood and Thunder by Matthias Sturm is 100% like no other!

Introducing Matthias Sturm - Blood and Thunder:
Frankly this video is intriguing, awe inspiring, undeniably creepy and something that you cannot help but sit and watch to try and grasp exactly what the director and the artist are trying to portray. Which is art in its true form - there to make you think, consider, ponder... I think I even felt like I was high at one point, I would use the single word 'tripping' to summarise some of the thoughts I had when watching the video.
The song and video are open to interpretation and create many juxtapositions for the viewer!
To us the video creates a range of emotions which all somehow starkly oppose one another! For example I myself find it both beautiful AND scary, a mixture of colourful AND sad, I was even uncomfortable at some point (no idea why) BUT still HAD TOcontinue watching it! It confuses me BUT at the same time I GET IT! What a rollercoaster! (Phew)!
This makes me love it all the more - the song 'Blood and Thunder' has a very eerie and laid back vibe to it, which undeniably adds to the mystical nature of the whole project. I would bookmark and watch/listen to this again the moment I am tired of the norm and want something different.
Really really well done to the people behind this one - Im all for new music and new visuals and this one really blew all the other creative projects I have seen lately out of the water! (And I've seen many)!
